Special Circumstances
The Office of Financial Aid at Claremont McKenna College is dedicated to a thorough and personal review of each family's individual circumstances as the basis of all financial aid awards.
We recognize that family circumstances may change significantly or unexpectedly and may affect a family's ability to contribute to educational expenses.
To request a review of a financial aid award, a family is required to complete the Special Circumstances Form. Submission of a Special Circumstances Form does not guarantee an adjustment or increase to your financial aid award.
The review of your Special Circumstances Form will be completed by a committee. If there is a change to the student's award, NetPartner will reflect the revision.
Special Circumstances do not include the following:
- Student or parent who does not wish to borrow to cover educational expenses
- Expenses such as credit card debt, wedding expenses, sports, enrichment activities, etc.
